Fantastic afghani restaurant! I was visiting some friends from Luton and we decided to check out this restaurant. The restaurant was located very close to the mall and had plentiful parking. The restaurant itself was very large and spacious and had an ambient, cosy feel to it. We were welcomed by the owner (J Khan) and he was fantastic. He was very professional, polite and gave the hospitality. The food itself was fantastic. We ordered a charsi lamb karahi, chicken karahi, mixed grill alongside a mango lassi and drinks. The meat quality was exceptional. All of the food had the correct ratio of flavour. The price to quality ratio was excellent and the portion sizes were generous too. The chapali kebabs were the best I’ve ever had! The charsi lamb karahi was marinated to perfection and it was hot and flavoursome. The mixed grill pieces were juicy and tender. The service from start to finish both the owner and the waiters/waitress was impeccable. I’d highly recommend trying Pak Afghan Hujra if you’re in the Luton area. The food is excellent! I will definitely visit again when I’m next in Luton! Thanks for the great food!

Today we are dining in Luton for some Afghan food. Both of us were craving Kabuli pulao/rice. We started looking up restaurants near us and Afghan Dera restaurant near Luton Mall came up with the best reviews on Google Maps. So, we decided to check them out and we can say with 100% confidence & satisfaction that the reviews were valid. Food was AMAZING…. We ordered their Mix Grill for 29.99 & “Sweet Mango Lassi Jar” for 6.99 … which can be shared by 3-4 people as the portions were quite large. The restaurant may come off as a confined space from the front but it’s actually quite spacious and cozy. They have great ambiance with moody lighting and light music. Service was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our time at this restaurant and will definitely go back to try other dishes.

The interior of this place was really nice and authentic gave the Afghani feel, it was a shame we couldn’t sit in the floor seating area as it was booked but that didn’t disappoint us with the food. We had the Afghan mixed grill platter and we throughly enjoyed it. It came with the chapli kebab which we’re really pleased with. The Afghan pillau was on point and the meats were tasty and flavourful. They didn’t have the red chilly sauce which was a bit of a let down but it didn’t ruin the taste or experience. Would recommend this place for nice authentic afghani food.

Had an amazing experience. Service was excellent, food was served just on time. Best Chicken Tikka in town. Instead of repeat what other reviews have already stated I’ll simply say pay them a visit. They can accommodate large groups so take friends and family and order a large sharing platter. Reasonable prices to boot. Parking is a challenge but get creative. Lovely family atmosphere.

Beautiful and spacious interior with plenty of seating that is comfortable and inviting. Warm and welcoming staff who are attentive and helpful with choosing from the menu. Food is absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, tender meats and veg. Wonderful seasonings on all appetizers and mains. Flavorful sauces and a really satisfying salted lassi.

We recently visited Luton and we called in on the off chance. We had a fantastic selection of grills with some of the tastiest rice I have ever known. The service, atmosphere and food were amazing. We liked it so much, we went the following night and decided to order a little differently with a curry. I have been eating curries for over 50 years and for my taste buds, this is the best which I have ever eaten. Truly, truly mind blowing and the staff were sensational. I will go here every night I am in Luton in the future. I understand that we have different tastes but for me and my partner, it was an amazing find!
